Spider Lace Afghan

I’ve been working on this since the start of the school year and I plan to finish it this summer. It’s not available anywhere online as I got the pattern word of mouth from a friend. But I’ll go ahead and post it here :)

OVERALL: Great project for TV watching or just to work on here and there. Takes a while as it’s only singles and chains, but looks very beautiful.

MATERIALS:

Size J hook

6 skeins of I Love this Yarn! (2130yds worsted weight) 

PATTERN:

ch156

Row 1.

sc in second ch from hook. sc across (155sts) ch1 to turn.

Row 2.

sc3, ch5, *skip 2 sts, sc5, ch5**, rep. * to ** until last five sts, skip 2 sts, 3sc, ch1 to turn.

Row 3. 

2sc, ch3, *sc in ch5 space, ch3, skip one sts, sc3, ch3**, rep. * to ** until last 3 sts, skip one sts, sc2, ch1 to turn.

Row 4.

sc1, ch3, *sc in ch3 space, sc1, sc in ch3 space, ch3, skip one sts, sc1, ch3**, rep. * to ** until last 2 sts, skip one sts, sc1, ch1 to turn.

Row 5.

ch4 (counts as a dc and ch2), sc in ch3 space, sc3, sc in ch3 space, *ch5, sc in ch3 space, sc3, sc in ch3 space**, rep. * to ** until last sts, ch2, dc, ch1 to turn.

Row 6. 

sc in first dc, ch3, skip 1 sts, sc3, ch3, *sc in ch5 space, ch3, skip 1 sts, sc3, ch3**, rep. * to ** until the ch4 from previous row, skip two chains, sc, ch1 to turn.

Row 7.

sc in first sts and in ch3 space, ch3, skip one sts, sc, ch3, sc in ch3 space, *sc, sc in ch3 space, ch3, skip one sts, sc, ch3, sc in ch3 space**, rep. * to ** until last sts, sc, ch1 to turn.

Row 8.

sc2, sc in ch3 space, ch5, sc in ch3 space, *sc3, sc in ch3 space, ch5, sc in ch3 space**, rep. * to ** until last 2 sts, sc2, ch1 to turn.

Repeat rows 3-8 until desired length, ending on row 7.
