knitwhatyouexpected asked: Hi, I saw that you dyed some yarn with rose petals, and thought you might want to know that I also did this and if you let the dyebath cool down and then soak the yarn for 24-48 hours it makes a lovely lavender colour. Well, it did when I tried it! The dye seemed to adhere a bit better with the cold method :)

knitwhatyouexpected: I found this website when I first looked into natural dyes. The ideas are pretty good but a lot of the suggestions don’t yield the same colours when dyeing wool (I think the list is based on dyeing fabrics like cotton). Still, I think it’s a good source for a bit of inspiration and it’s worth trying some of them out. I’ve been using this site as a source inspiration...
